About Béatrice Vu

Documentary Filmmaker & Photographer

My name is Beatrice, and I am a Quebec-based documentary filmmaker, commercial photographer, and visual storyteller of Vietnamese and Thai heritage. Specialized in outdoor branded film and photo campaigns,
my work explores the delicate intersection of human experience and environmental conservation.

The Journey: From Finance to Visual Storytelling

In 2017, I made a pivotal transition from a career in finance to pursue a Bachelor’s in Graphic Design, driven by a passion for conscious travel and meaningful media production. My deep connection to the natural world began in childhood, when my father introduced me to wildlife documentaries. This sparked a enduring curiosity about the incredible diversity of global cultures, landscapes, and species.

In 2019, I founded Wild to Balance Studio, a multidisciplinary creative space dedicated to uncovering untold stories. Through compelling cinematography and impactful photography, the studio partners with conscious brands and organizations to create content that shifts perspectives, inspires positive change, and advocates for our coexistence with nature.

For almost a decade, I have embraced slow travel, immersing myself in different countries for 2 to 6 months. This intentional way of exploring has shaped my deep sensitivity and thoughtful approach to every project I take on, whether it is in the dense jungles of Sumatra, the high peaks of Peru or to Antarctica for a climate change education.
